Network services are the foundation of a networked computing environment.
Usually network services are installed on one or more servers in order to provide shared resources to customer computers.
Network services are build up on corporate LAN’s to ensure security and simple operations. They facilitate smooth and efficient LAN work.
Enabling few network services computerizes complicated and time consuming network administration and hence makes network administrators’ work simpler.
Network services also include Email, printing and network file sharing services. Usually they are used in a LAN environment, as they allow users to access any printer connected to the network, files on the server or other nodes connected, and simplify data transfer within the corporate network. This requires users to have permissions to access the resources shared, however, the access rights and security configuration is not complicated and maybe adjusted to ongoing bases.
DPA provides network security services depending on each customer’s needs and requirements considering their business model.
Common network services include:
- Authentication servers
- Directory services
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
- DNS
- Printing
- Network file system
